Current events remind us why Geomines exists. Our sites are plentiful, and it is estimated that there are still 400 to 500 years of pyrotechnical clearance to be carried out before all the remains of the war are neutralised. And two latest highlights prove it:
- On Wednesday 24 February, 5 French-made aviation bombs were found and neutralised by the civil security in Torreilles
- In the Hauts de France region, on Tuesday 2 March, two defence blocks dating from the Second World War were demined by the demining divers group (GPD) of the Channel. The blocks contained two German anti-tank mines and a French 274 mm marine artillery shell, representing a total of 60 kg of neutralised TNT equivalent.
